Wenatchee, WA. -- The Wenatchee Wild, preparing for their first season as  members of the British Columbia Hockey League, are pleased to announce the return of Ben Baker for his second season with the team.

Baker, from Rancho Soma Margarit, California is a right-handed shooting defenseman, who is 6’1”, 185 pounds. He’s 18 years old and played 26 games for the Wild last season, tallying 2 assists and 2 penalty minutes. He appeared in 5 playoff games.

Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler said that “Ben is a big defenseman that skates well. Look for Ben to turn into a very steady defenseman for us this year.”

About returning to the Wild, Baker says that “I am ecstatic about returning to Wenatchee next season because it is one of the best places to play junior hockey and a privilege to play for the coaching staff here. I am looking forward to the move to the BCHL as well; I feel this is a great move for our organization. The level of excitement within the fan base and the community is extremely high. Can’t wait to get back with fellow returning players and the new group that is coming in.”

The Wild will open the regular season September 11th and 12th, with a pair of road games against the Prince George Spruce Kings. The team’s first home game at the Town Toyota Center will be Saturday, October 10th, against the Coquitlam Express.
