FEDERAL HOLIDAY - Today is Presidents Day.

The Tampa Bay Juniors wrapped up the regular season this past Saturday, February 14th, by dropping a pair of games at the Florida Eels.

In the Empire game, the Juniors got two goals from Max Mulholland, but lost to the Eels 8-2. Tampa Bay's duo of Sam Coleman and Zac Gazzanna combined for 54 saves. The Juniors went 0-for-2 on the power play and 3-of-4 on the penalty kill. The Empire team dropped 6 of their last 10, finishing the season third in the South, with a record of 26-11-0-3.

In the Elite game, goals from Jared and Brandon Goudreau weren't enough, as the Eels edged Tampa Bay 3-2. Michael Krch made 46 saves for the Juniors, who went 0-for-6 on the power play and 8-of-10 on the penalty kill.Tampa Bay finishes with a 5-5 mark to end the season, compiling a record of 22-14-0-4, good for fourth in the South.

The playoffs start this coming Thursday night, as the Empire Juniors host the Florida Eels. Game times are 5:00pm EST on both Thursday, February 19th and Friday, February 20th. If a third game is needed, it will be played on Saturday, February 21st at 8:45pm EST. The Elite series, to be played at the Florida Eels, is yet to be determined. The Gainesville, Florida's video performance has gone viral. Northsea wrote on Facebook that someone suggested dancing to Thriller to jump start labor. 1970 - Joe Frazier began his reign as the undefeated heavyweight world champion when he knocked out Jimmy Ellis in five rounds. He lost the title on January 22, 1973, when he lost for the first time in his professional career to George Foreman.

2004 - The Pittsburgh Penguins lost their NHL-record 12th consecutive home game. 

2004 - Baseball commissioner Bud Selig approved the swap of Alex Rodriguez (Texas Rangers) and Alfonso Soriano (New York Yankees). The Rangers would also get a minor league player in the deal. 

2005 - The NHL announced the cancellation of the 2004-2005 season due to a labor dispute. It was the first time a major sports league in North America lost an entire season to a labor dispute.
