Stanley Cup To Make Appearance Saturday

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 10th anniversary of the Labatt Blue/USA Hockey Pond Hockey National Championships will take place Friday though Sunday (Feb. 6-8), in Eagle River, Wisconsin, at the Eagle River Derby Track. "It's hard to believe this is the 10th anniversary of the event," said Ashley Bevan, senior director of adult hockey for USA Hockey. "This has grown from what was once just a concept into a 'can't miss' event on the hockey calendar that now sells out in a matter of hours. We wish all of the teams the best of luck and look forward to, as always, the great camaraderie shared among all involved." As part of the 10th anniversary celebration, this year's event will include an appearance by the Stanley Cup at Saturday (Feb. 7) evening's reception. U.S. National Under-17 Team Clips Finland, 2-1, at Five Nations Tournament  Suthers Scores Game-Winner; Oettinger Makes 30 Saves DMITROV, Russia - Keenan Suthers (Macomb, Mich.) tallied the game-winning goal late in the third period and Jake Oettinger (Lakeville, Minn.) made 30 saves as the U.S. National Under-17 Team clipped Finland, 2-1, here tonight at Dmitrov Arena. With the victory, Team USA’s record improves to 2-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) at the 2015 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament. James Sanchez (Northbrook, Ill.) opened the scoring for Team USA 13:29 into the first frame, snapping a Clayton Keller (Swansea, Ill.) feed into the net. Oettinger was tested nine times and denied each chance to preserve the lead after 20 minutes. Finland knotted the game at 16:39 of the second stanza, leading to a tightly contested third period that saw Suthers score the eventual game-winner.
