Tampa, FL. -- Tampa Bay got off to a good start on its first road trip of the season, holding off the Vancouver Canucks for a 4-2 victory at Rogers Arena. The Lightning grabbed the opening goal in the game's first minute and never trailed. Steven Stamkos scored a pair of goals, Ryan Callahan added the game-winner and Ben Bishop made 30 quality saves to push the Bolts record to 3-1-1 (7 points).

A Kansas City, Missouri, man combined two things during a marathon Saturday. David Babcock combined running and knitting at the Kansas City Marathon. Last year Babcock set the world record for knitting the longest scarf while running in a marathon — 12 feet, one and three-fourths inches long. This year Babcock did finger knitting to prepare for the upcoming New York City Marathon. He switched to finger knitting because security is tight and he wouldn’t be able to bring needles and hooks.
