COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Forwards Colin McDonald (Wethersfield, Conn./New York Islanders/Providence College) and Andy Miele (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./Phoenix Coyotes/Miami Univ.) and defenseman Connor Murphy (Dublin, Ohio/Phoenix Coyotes) have been added to the 2014 U.S. Men's National Team that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation Men's World Championship May 9-25 in Minsk, Belarus.
McDonald is making his debut on a U.S. National Team.
Miele previously skated for the U.S. Men's National Team at the 2011 IIHF Men's World Championship in Kosice and Bratislava, Slovakia.
Murphy helped Team USA win gold at both the 2011 IIHF Men's Under-18 World Championship in Crimmitschau, Germany, and the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia.
The first 15 players for the U.S. Men's National Team were announced April 15. Team USA now has 10 forwards, seven defensemen and one goaltender on its roster. The maximum roster size is 25, which includes three goaltenders and 22 forwards and defensemen.

LAPPEENRANTA, Finland. - Alex Nedeljkovic (Parma, Ohio) turned aside 24 shots as the U.S. Men's National Under-18 Team blanked the Czech Republic, 3-0, here today at Lappeenranta Arena. With the win, Team USA's record improves to 1-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) at the 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation Men's Under-18 World Championship.
Auston Matthews (Scottsdale, Ariz.) put Team USA on the board at 8:17 of the first frame. Skating four-on-four, Matthews fired a shot that deflected off a defender's stick and over Czech goalie Vitek Vanecek. Brandon Fortunato (North Hills, N.Y.) and Jack Dougherty (Cottage Grove, Minn.) collected assists on the play. Nedeljkovic was tested early, but stopped all 10 shots he saw in the period.
The U.S. lead doubled 58 seconds into the second stanza when Sonny Milano (Massapequa, N.Y.) pounced on a rebound to the right of the crease. Jack Eichel (North Chelmsford, Mass.) created the opportunity, skating around the net and firing a shot that caromed to Milano's stick. Alex Tuch (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) was credited with a secondary assist. Kyle Connor (Shelby Township, Mich.) extended the U.S. lead to three goals with a wrist shot from the high slot. Joe Wegwerth (Brewster, N.Y.) and Jack Glover (Golden Valley, Minn.) assisted.
Nedeljkovic made five of his 24 total saves in the final frame to preserve the shutout victory.
The U.S. Men's National Under-18 Team is back in action tomorrow (April 20) versus Denmark. The game is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. EDT at Lappeenranta Arena. All U.S. tournament games will be streamed live on FASTHockey free of charge.

LAPPEENRANTA, Finland. - Jack Eichel (North Chelmsford, Mass.) and Sonny Milano (Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded three points each, and Edwin Minney (Wind Gap, Pa.) registered Team USA's second-straight shut out, as the U.S. Men's National Under-18 Team defeated Denmark, 7-0, here today at Lappeenranta Arena. With the win Team USA improves to 2-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) in preliminary round action at the 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation Men's Under-18 World Championship.
Team USA opened the scoring midway through the first frame. After killing a Denmark power play, Eichel skated toward the right side of the crease sending an attempted pass off of the goaltender's pad. Milano buried the rebound to give the United States its first lead.
Eichel was awarded a penalty shot at the 7:55 mark of the second stanza, but was denied by Denmark's Mathias Seldrup. Team USA doubled its lead off the stick of Jared Fiegl (Parker, Colo.) at 11:47. Fiegl took a pass from Joe Wegwerth (Brewster, N.Y.) and ripped a shot that rode up Seldrup's stick, hit the tight netting under the crossbar and bounced back out of the net. Video replay confirmed call on the ice and the goal stood. Eichel extended the U.S. lead to three goals at 16:34, chipping the puck up and over Seldrup's pads after a hard drive to the net from the left half-boards. Milano and Jack Glover (Golden Valley, Minn.) registered helpers on the play.
Glover pushed the U.S. lead to four goals just over two minutes into the final frame. Louie Belpedio (Skokie, Ill.) worked the puck around to Milano in the attacking zone before finding Glover standing inside the blue line. Glover launched a shot that found its way through traffic for the tally. Three minutes later, Ryan Hitchcock (Manhasset, N.Y.) lit the lamp for Team USA, connecting with Auston Matthews (Scottsdale, Ariz.) to take a 5-0 lead. Eichel tallied his second of the game at 12:49, sending a backhand shot up and over Seldrup. Sixteen seconds later, Hitchcock found Kyle Connor (Shelby Township, Mich.) with a cross-ice pass, allowing Connor to hit the wide-open net. Noah Hanifin (Norwood, Mass.) also assisted on the play to secure the 7-0 victory for Team USA.
Minney stopped all nine shots he saw to pick up the shut out for Team USA while Seldrup turned aside 52 attempts for Denmark.
The U.S. Men's National Under-18 Team's final preliminary round game will come against host country Finland on Tuesday (April 22). Puck drop is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. EDT at Lappeenranta Arena.
