Blaine, MN. – Parker Tuomie (Biemerhaven, Germany) scored twice Saturday night, leading the Wenatchee Wild to a 3-1 win over the Coulee Region Chill on the final night of the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota.

Tuomie scored short handed, assisted by Mike Coyne (Kenmore, New York) at 12:01, giving the Wild a 1-0 lead after one.

Tuomie scored again, this time assisted by Corey Sikich (Valencia, California) at 6:46 of the second, for a 2-0 Wenatchee lead. It was 3-0 2 minutes later, as Chris Koukis (Brentwood, California) scored on assists by Trey Bradley (Tampa, Florida) and Troy Loggins (Huntington Beach, California) at 8:54. Coulee Region got on the board late in the period, as Jake Zeleznikar scored, assisted by Jesse Tredinnick at 18:38.

In the third period, the Wild limited the Chill to just 6 shots on goal and went on from there to the 3-1 win.

Wenatchee outshot Coulee Region 31-30 on the night. Chase Perry (Andover, Minnesota) made 29 saves for the Wild, while Blake Cates and Adam Carlson combined to stop 28 shots for the Chill. Wenatchee was a perfect 8-of-8 on the penalty kill with a shorthanded goal, while going 0-for-5 on the power play.

The Wild improve to 3-1-0 on the season, Coulee Region slips to 3-1-0.

Wenatchee plays two in Bismarck on September 27th and 28th at 5:15pm PDT both nights. The home opening weekend at the Town Toyota Center against the Minot Minotauros is set for Friday and Saturday, October 4th and 5th, with faceoff at 7:05pm PDT both nights. The Tampa Bay Juniors USPHL Empire team played Friday night at the Palm Beach Hawks and lost 5-4 in overtime.

Trey Stern with two, Brandon Goudreau and Saveliy Morozov scored goals for Tampa Bay, Austin Kinzel made 35 saves. The Juniors were 0-for-4 on the power play and 5-of-6 on the penalty kill.

The Tampa Bay Juniors USPHL Elite team hosted the Palm Beach Hawks over the weekend, losing 10-5 on Saturday and 6-3 on Sunday.

In Saturday's game, Palm Beach broke open a close game with a 6 goal second period and cruised to the win. Harry Kaladzhyan, Paul Lochner with two, Richard Foy and Nakita Zagryadskiy scored for Tampa Bay, George McLead made 33 saves. The Juniors were 1-for-3 on the power play and 5-of-7 on the penalty kill.

On Sunday, Tampa Bay drew within 5-3 in the third period, but allowed an empty net short handed goal, losing 6-3. Zagryadskiy, David Cross and Lochner scored for the Juniors, Kinzel made 30 saves. Tampa Bay went 0-for-3 with a short handed goal against on the power play. They were 6-of-7 on the penalty kill.

Coming up for the Juniors' Empire team, is a Saturday, September 28th exhibition game against the FGCU Eagles. Face-off in Ellenton is set for 5:15pm EDT. Tampa Bay's Elite team will host the Space Coast Hurricanes at 8:00pm on Saturday, September 28th and 12:15pm EDT and 12:15pm EDT on Sunday, September 29th. All games will be carried live on FASTHockey.com.
