WENATCHEE, Wash. - Three third period goals and spotless goaltending were the difference Friday night, as the Wenatchee Wild collected standings points in their seventh-straight game, moving into sole possession of first place in the NAHL West, with a 3-0 win over the Jamestown Ironmen, in front of 2,277 at the Town Toyota Center.

After a scoreless first period, the two teams came out firing in the second, but neither could dent the twine, as both goaltenders were solid, keeping the game scoreless through 40 minutes.

Max McHugh (Edgewood, Washington), fed by Noah Nelson(Oconomowoc, Wisconsin) would score his 6th goal of the season on a wrister from the top slot-side of the right circle, finishing off a 3-on-2 break and giving Wenatchee the 1-0 lead at 4:45 of the third period. Tyler Bruneteau (Omaha, Nebraska) would then wrist one home from the top of the right circle that somehow squeaked through the five-hole of Jamestown goaltender Tim Shaughnessy 6:10 later, at 10:55. Josh Hartley(Coquitlam, British Columbia) drew the lone assist on Bruneteau's first goal of the season, giving the Wild a 2-0 lead. David Powlowski (Rochester, New York) would score in tight on a feed from Blake Roubos (Niagara Falls, Ontario) from behind the net at 15:45, increasing the lead to 3-0. For Powlowski, it was his 3rd goal of the season.

Robert Nichols (Dallas, Texas) made 17 saves for Wenatchee, recording his second consecutive shutout, as well as his league-best 5thof the season. Shaughnessy would make 36 stops for the Ironmen. Both teams were 0-2 on the power play. Wild Head Coach Bliss Littler was pleased with the play of his team throughout the game. "I thought it was a very good effort on our part. I liked our patience, we had some real high quality in the first and second to score but we didn't. Kept our composure, I think we wore them down in the third."

Next weekend the Wild will be on the road for two games at the Fresno Monsters. Game times next Friday and Saturday, December 14
th and 15th, are 7:35pm each night. After that, the Wild is off for the league's Christmas break, resuming action on December 28th, 29th and 31st
on home ice against the Kenai River Brown Bears. Game time for the first two games is 7:05pm, with the third game slated for a 6:05pm start. Season tickets and individual game tickets are on sale now. Call 509.888.PUCK (7825).
