U.S. Names National Women's U18 Roster That Will Face Canada in Three-Game Series

FASTHockey will carry all three games

BLAINE, Minn. - USA Hockey today announced the 22 players that will comprise the U.S. National Women's Under-18 Team that will play a three-game series against Canada, August 16-19 at the National Sports Center's Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.

Four players from the U.S. Women's National Under-18 Team that captured the silver medal at the 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation U18 Women's World Championship were selected for the upcoming three-game series, including goaltender Sidney Peters (Geneva, Ill.) and forwards Kate Schipper (Brooklyn Park, Minnesota), Sydney Daniels (Southwick, Mass.), and Danielle Cameranesi Plymouth, Minn.). All four players also played in the 2011 U18 series vs. Canada.

The 2012 series, which will be carried live on FASTHockey.com, will begin on Thursday (Aug. 16) at 7 p.m. (CDT). Game two is slated for Friday (Aug. 17) at 7 p.m. and the final contest will be played at 10 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 19). All games are open to the public with free admission and will be on Rink 5 at the Schwan Super Rink.

NOTES: The U18 series vs. Canada is in its sixth year of existence … The U.S. is 7-6-2 all-time against the Canadians in the event, which was first played in 2007. Each team has swept the other once, with the Americans winning all three games in 2010 and Canada taking the 2007 series. Past results can be viewed here … Defenseman Jincy Dunne (O'Fallon, Ill.) is the youngest player on the roster at 15 years and 3 months … Forward Andie Anastos (Farmington Hills, Mich.) is the daughter of Tom Anastos, current head men's ice hockey coach at Michigan State University and the former commissioner of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association … Jeff Kampersal (Beverley, Mass.), head women's ice hockey coach of Princeton University, will serve as the head coach … Courtney Kennedy (Woburn, Mass.), assistant women's ice hockey coach at Boston College, and Steve Guider (Blaine, Minn.), head girl's ice hockey coach at Blaine (Minn.)
