St. Petersburg, FL. -- Winning the weekend series with the Red Sox would have been a nice start to the second half for the Rays.

That did not happen.

Instead, the Rays took a 7-3 loss to their American League East rival at Tropicana Field on Sunday with 26,131 watching, falling to 46-43 in the process. The Red Sox now hold a 7-5 advantage over the Rays in the season series.

San Francisco, CA.--
After losing five of the last six games on the road before the All-Star break, the Giants knew they would have to capitalize on the three-game homestand against the Astros to start the second half before embarking on another six-game road swing.

A solid outing from Matt Cain and a pair of RBI singles from Buster Posey helped the Giants do just that, beating the Astros on Sunday, 3-2, to complete the three-game sweep.

Tellers at a bank in Mt. Morris Township, Michigan, got an unusual request that caused them to call police. A man came up to the drive thru with a duffel bag and asked for $10,000 -- and suckers. Now everyone knows about the complimentary suckers at banks but complimentary 10 grand? Not so much. Unwilling to even grant the lollipop request, tellers left the man standing outside while they dialed 911. He left before police arrived.

LOUDON, N.H. -- Kasey Kahne spoiled Denny Hamlin's heroic drive through the field and held on to win Sunday's LENOX Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, all but securing a spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup with his second victory of the season.

Kahne led the final 66 laps, as fast-closing Hamlin ran out of time after starting deep in the field on a restart on Lap 240. Hamlin had dominated the race, but a miscommunication on pit strategy cost him track position in the late going, and Hamlin ran out of time after securing the runner-up spot.

Clint Bowyer ran third, followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Brad Keselowski. Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, Greg Biffle and Ryan Newman completed the top 10.
