Tampa, FL. -- Not even the NHL’s hottest team could slow down the surging Tampa Bay Lightning.

Steven Stamkos scored twice and had three points, and Mathieu Garon turned back 28 shots to lift the Lightning to a 3-2 win over the red-hot Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night at the Tampa Bay Times Forum, snapping Anaheim’s season-high nine-game point streak.

U.S. National Sled Hockey Team Begins Sled Series Against Canada Tomorrow

Three-Game Series Held in Amherst, N.Y.; Fans Can Watch Live on FASTHockey

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team opens a three-game series against Canada tomorrow in Williamsville, N.Y. The series will be the final games for the U.S. before the International Paralympic Committee Sledge Hockey World Championship from March 25-April 2 in Hamar, Norway.

"We're excited to have our team back together," said Jeff Sauer, head coach of the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team. "These three games will give us a great tune-up before heading to Norway for the World Championship."

Team USA will take on Canada's National Sled Hockey Team tomorrow (Feb. 23) at 6 p.m. EST, Friday (Feb. 24) at 8 p.m. and Saturday (Feb. 25) at 7 p.m. at the Northtown Center at Amherst. A full schedule is below. All three games will air live on FASTHockey.com.

A lunch menu from the Titanic's final day afloat is expected to sell for about $150,000 when it goes up for auction in England next month. On this date in 1855, the U.S. Congress voted to appropriate $200,000 for continuance of the work on the Washington Monument. The next morning the resolution was tabled and it would be 21 years before the Congress would vote on funds again. Work was continued by the Know-Nothing Party in charge of the project. On this date in 1859, U.S. President Buchanan approved the Act of February 22, 1859, which incorporated the Washington National Monument Society "for the purpose of completing the erection now in progress of a great National Monument to the memory of Washington at the seat of the Federal Government." On this date in 1885, the Washington Monument was officially dedicated in Washington, DC. It opened to the public in 1889.
