U.S. National Sled Hockey Team to Compete
in World Sledge Hockey Challenge Beginning Sunday
First IPC Event of the 2011-12 Season to Take Place in Calgary

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 2011-12 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team will take part in its first International Paralympic Committee-sanctioned tournament of the season beginning Sunday (Nov. 27) at the 2011 World Sledge Hockey Challenge in Calgary, Alta.

Team USA will face Canada, Norway and Japan in the four-team tournament from Nov. 27 through Dec. 3. All of the games from the 2011 World Sledge Hockey Challenge will be streamed live on FASTHockey.com.

NOTES: Team USA finished third at last year's World Sledge Hockey Challenge, which took place in April 2011 in London, Ont. ... Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey Captures Title at
2011 USA Hockey Sled Classic, Presented by the NHL
Second Annual Tournament Featured Nine Teams Affiliated with NHL Teams

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The second annual USA Hockey Sled Classic presented by the NHL took place last weekend, with over 100 of the top sled hockey players in the country competing on nine sled hockey teams affiliated with NHL clubs. The event was part of Come Play Hockey Month, a joint effort of USA Hockey and the National Hockey League.

The Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey team captured the tournament title on Sunday (Nov. 20), after defeating the Boston Bruins' sled team in the championship game at the Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone in Vorhees, N.J.

Other NHL teams represented at the event included the Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins, St. Louis Blues, Tampa Bay Lightning, and tournament host Philadelphia Flyers.

NOTES: Buffalo finished the tournament undefeated with a 5-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record ...
