Darian Durant, Chris Milo lead Riders past Toronto 30-20.

Regina, Saskatchewan -- The Saskatchewan Roughriders lost Andy Fantuz to injury in the first half, but rallied behind the passing of Darian Durant and the kicking of Chris Milo to defeat the Toronto Argonauts 30-20, before the usual sell-out crowd of 30,048 at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Toronto would open the scoring on their second possession. Aided by a circus catch at the 11 by Brandon Rideau, Noel Prefontaine would drill an 18 yard field goal with 8:47 left in the first, putting the Boatmen on top 3-0. Prefontaine would kick another three-pointer, this one from 41 yards with 1:36 to play in the first, giving Toronto a 6-0 lead. The Argos would go on to out-gain the Riders 153-22 in the opening quarter, keeping the ball for 11:29.

Prefontaine's third field goal of the game, this one from 36 yards out with 5:42 remaining in the first half, put the Toronto lead at 9-0. The Saskatchewan offense would finally respond on their next possession. The duo of Darian Durant and Chris Getzlaf would connect on a couple of long plays, the second finding pay dirt down the right sideline from 28 yards away. Chris Milo toed the convert and with 4:09 to play 'til two quarter time, the Argo lead was down to 2 at 9-7. Yet another Prefontaine field goal, this one a 32 yarder with :51 seconds left in the half, upped the Argonaut lead to 5, at 12-7, a lead they would take to half-time.

Early in the third quarter, it looked like a Rider drive might die shy of centrefield, but Durant hooked up with Getzlaf again, this time on a 64 yard bomb to the Toronto 6. Weston Dressler took the hand-off on the next play and scooted around right end for the final 6 yards and the major score. Milo converted with 9:52 still to play in the third and Saskatchewan had their first lead of the day, 14-12. Andre Durie would beat Lance Frazier down the left sideline on a circle route six minutes later and Steven Jyles would find him about five yards into the left side of the endzone and Durie would haul in the pass for the major score. Prefontaine kicked the convert with 3:10 to go in the third, putting the Argos back on top, 19-14. For Toronto, it was their first offensive touchdown in 33 possessions, spanning 186:39. It was also Jyles' first scoring pass as the Argonaut pivot.

The Roughriders would drive through the end of the third and into the early fourth, looking for more digits on the scoreboard. Set up by a pass interference call on Toronto's Sean Smalls who fouled Dallas Baker at the 10, Saskatchewan would get close, but were forced to settle for an 11 yard Milo field goal, cutting the Boatmen's advantage to two, at 19-17, with 12:41 yet to play in regulation time. The Riders would create the contest's first turnover on Toronto's next possession, as James Patrick intercepted a Jyles pass at the 48, returning the ball to the 41, then turning it into points. After Wes Cates broke a tackle on a swing pass for a big first down to the 29, the drive would stall two plays later and Milo would come on to boot a 30 yard field goal with 9:07 to play, putting Saskatchewan back on top, 20-19. After Toronto's next drive stalled. a 60 yard punt single by Prefontaine with 5:34 to go in the fourth would tie the game 20-20. The Regina Boys would grind out some more points on their next possession, starting at their own 35, reaching the Argo 18 at the three minute warning, before Milo drilled a 25 yard field goal with 2:31 left on the clock, putting Saskatchewan back on top, 23-20. Toronto would run a pooch kick back to centrefield, but Jyles, under huge pressure on the next scrimmage play, coughed up the football at his own 50 with 2:19 to play, where Dario Romero would cover it up for the Roughriders. After one first down, two runs were stuffed and Milo would come on to punt the ball back to the Arogs at their 15, with :56 to play. On second down, Jyles' pass to the right flat was picked cleanly by Chris McKenzie at the 33 and he ran in untouched from there for the major with :39 left. Milo converted and Saskatchewan would hold on from there for the 30-20 win.

For the Roughriders, Darian Durant was 21-for-34 passing for 279 yards and 1 touchdown. He was sacked twice and ran the ball 5 times for 40 yards. Chris Getzlaf caught 7 passes for 170 yards  and 1 touchdown, Wes Cates ran the ball 12 times for 56 yards and Weston Dressler ran once for a 6 yard touchdown. Chris Milo kicked 3 field goals, 2 converts and punted 8 times for a 40.13 yard average. Defensively, Jarrell Freeman and Barrin Simpson had 7 tackles each, Dario Romero recovered a fumble and James Patrick and Chris McKenzie each intercepted a pass, with McKenzie returning his for a major late in the game. For Toronto, Steven Jyles was 19-for-33 passing for 254 yards and 1 touchdown, while being intercepted twice and being sacked 3 times. Mike Bradwell caught 4 passes for 78 yards, Andre Durie caught 5 balls for 71 yards and a major. Cory Boyd ran 15 times for 90 yards and E.j. Kuale led the defense with 9 tackles.

Toronto won most of the statistical battles, leadng in total offense 466 to 374 and in first downs, 22 to 21. They had the edge in passing yards 293 to 279, in rushing 188 to 106 and in net yards 466 to 374. The Argos were penalized 12 times for 145 yards, while Saskatchewan took 7 penalties for 85 yards. Toronto had the advantage in time of possession 32:54 to 27:06, but gave up the ball twice on interceptions and once on a fumble, while the Riders didn't give the ball up once. When turning the ball over more than their opponent in a game since 2008, the Argonauts are now a staggering 1-40.

With the win, their third straight, Saskatchewan improves to 4-7, while the loss drops Toronto to 2-9.

Next up for the Riders is a home date with the BC Lions on Saturday, September 24th. Kickoff time with Rod Pedersen and Carm Carteri on 620 CKRM and the Rider Radio Network, is 4:00pm EDT. It was the seventh straight win for the Giants, who trail the National League West-leading D-backs -- who lost to the Padres, 3-1, on Saturday -- by five games with 10 to play. The Giants also trail the Braves by five games in the NL Wild Card race.

JOLIET, Ill. -- A full schedule of double-duty driving didn't hurt Brad Keselowski, who won Saturday's Dollar General 300 Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland Speedway in a prelude to his debut Sunday in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

Keselowski won his third Nationwide race of the season and the 15th of his career, cruising to a decisive victory over Carl Edwards, whose chances at a victory evaporated when his No. 60 Ford ran out of fuel moments before a scheduled pit stop on Lap 124 of 200.

Pole-sitter Brian Scott came home third, followed by Aric Almirola and Sam Hornish Jr. in a race that saw 10 cars finish on the lead lap. Series points leader Ricky Stenhouse Jr. held the top spot in the standings with an eighth-place finish.
