Eric Hosmer drilled a game-winning double in the 10th inning to give the Royals a 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on a hot Saturday night at Kauffman Stadium.
Billy Butler started the 10th with a single to right field on reliever Brandon Gomes' first pitch. Hosmer ripped his next pitch into the left-center field gap as pinch-runner Mike Aviles raced home to be engulfed by a swarm of celebrating Royals.
The Royals matched a season high with their fourth straight victory and this was their 11th walk-off win of the year.

The Giants bullpen has allowed only one run in 30 2/3 innings since the All-Star break. Equally astonishing, the relief corps has allowed exactly one hit in its last five games (12 1/3 innings).

LEBANON, Tenn. -- Carl Edwards did not let a penalty for speeding on pit road slow him down Saturday night, as he regained position quickly and dominated the field en route to a victory at Nashville Superspeedway in the Federated Auto Parts 300.
After leading from Laps 59 to 82, Edwards made a yellow-flag pit stop but approached his stall a bit too fast, and was forced to restart in the 14th position. However, it only took him 37 laps to regain the lead and backflip his way into Victory Lane at Nashville for the sixth time in his career -- five times in the Nationwide Series and once in the Truck Series.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. came in second place, followed by the weekend's Truck Series race winner, Austin Dillon, in third, Justin Allgaier in fourth and Aric Almirola in fifth.
