Ferlin, Mayfield Invited
to USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp
Camp to Take Place in Lake Placid this August
in Preparation for 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Brian Ferlin (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Scott Mayfield (St. Louis, Mo.) have been invited to the 2011 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp that will take place from August 6-13 at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, N.Y.
The pair will join 42 other players who are auditioning for a spot on the U.S. National Junior Team that will take part in the 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, Dec. 26, 2011-Jan. 5, 2012, in Calgary and Edmonton, Alta.
Both players skated in the United States Hockey League last season, with Ferlin representing the Indiana Ice and Mayfield playing for the Youngstown Phantoms. Neither player has taken part in a National Junior Evaluation Camp previously.

The USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp includes practices, intrasquad scrimmages and international games featuring Finland, Sweden and the United States. A full schedule is below.

Dan Bylsma, head coach of the National Hockey League's Pittsburgh Penguins, and Mike Sullivan, assistant coach of the NHL's New York Rangers, will also participate in Lake Placid as camp coaches ... Jim Johannson, USA Hockey's assistant executive director of hockey operations, is serving as the general manager of Team USA for the third consecutive year.
