Over the weekend 282 Canadians set the Guinness World Record for the most number of people carrying water jugs on their heads. They did it to draw attention to the fact that thousands of women and girls in many countries must walk miles each day to fetch water.

BALTIMORE --  A second straight day saw Tampa Bay get just five innings from its starting pitcher and for a second straight day, the Rays came away winners.
Sunday's 5-3 win over Baltimore completed a weekend sweep and kept the momentum rolling in the right direction for Tampa Bay, which finished the day tied with the Yankees for first place in the American League East. Sunday's win also established a single-season club record for the Rays as they won their eighth consecutive road game.

In Florida some sheriff's deputies spotted several pot plants being grown on a man's back porch. His girlfriend allowed deputies to search their place. That turned out to be a bad move as deputies found a cigar box with several bags of cocaine, a bag of rock cocaine, a bag of pot, some pills and an additional 33 pot plants.

SAN FRANCISCO -The cheering began as Ryan Vogelsong began striding to the dugout upon leaving the game and reached a crescendo when he doffed his cap to reciprocate the fans' appreciation.
Sunday proved euphoric for Vogelsong, another packed house at AT&T Park and, of course, for the Giants. They defeated the Colorado Rockies, 3-0, to complete a three-game sweep of the National League West leaders behind Vogelsong's 6 1/3 solid innings and Cody Ross' three RBIs.
