University of North Dakota Retains No. 1 Ranking
in USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of North Dakota retains its No. 1 ranking in this week's USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll following a weekend sweep of Michigan Tech University. North Dakota, which improved to 26-8-3, collected 503 points and 29 first-place votes to earn the top spot for the third week in a row.

Boston College claims the No. 2 spot with 480 points and five first-place votes after twice defeating the University of New Hampshire last weekend, while the idle Yale University sits at No. 3 with 438 points. Union College (394) and the University of Michigan (374) remain in the No. 4 and No. 5 spots.

Western Michigan University returns to the poll at No. 15 after a three-week hiatus.

Highlighting this weekend's games is one top-15 match-up between No. 9 Merrimack College and No. 14 University of Maine in the Hockey East quarterfinals.

This weekend marks the quarterfinals for each of the five NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, including Hockey East, ECAC Hockey, Atlantic Hockey, the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

NOTES: Hockey East leads all conferences with five ranked programs, while the WCHA and CCHA each boast four ranked programs and ECAC Hockey has two ... A total of 21 teams received votes.

ABOUT THE POLL: The 16th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men’s College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the five NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.

U.S. National Sled Hockey Team to Compete
in Japan Para Ice Sledge Hockey Championships This Weekend

Team USA to Play in First IPC-Sanctioned Tournament of the Season

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 2010-11 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team will take part in its first International Paralympic Committee-sanctioned tournament of the season this weekend at the 2011 Japan Para Ice Sledge Hockey Championships in Nagano, Japan.

Team USA, which won the event last year prior to winning the gold medal at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver, B.C., will face Canada, Norway and Japan in the four-team tournament from March 11-14.

"We're excited to get back on the ice against opponents other than ourselves again," said Ray Maluta, head coach of the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team. "This trip is always an important one for our players on many levels, as focus while dealing with a time change and new environment is key."

The U.S. faced Canada and Japan in exhibition games earlier this season, and will take part in the IPC-sanctioned 2011 World Sledge Hockey Challenge April 18-23 in London, Ont.

On March 11, the NHL suspended Bertuzzi for the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs and announced that his eligibility would be assessed the following season and would take into account Moore's health and the progression of his recovery.

2006 - NFL owners and the players' union agreed on a union proposal which extended the collective bargaining agreement from six years.
