The Tampa Bay Juniors' season is over. After giving themselves life with a convincing game two win, a mini-game overtime goal ended their season as the Hampton Roads Junior Whalers won 1-0, to advance to the league tournament next weekend in Atlanta.

Four goals from Paul Lochner, plus singles from Anthony Feldman, DJ Thomas and Dustin Disbro, plus 32 saves from Evan Weiss, propelled the Juniors to a 7-3 win, squaring the best-of-three series at a game apiece. Hampton Roads' Chris Radague, Kellan Lessard and Matt Culcasi scored first period goals, to forge a 3-3 tie after one. Tampa Bay would add Feldman's goal in the second, plus three more in the third, to force a deciding ten minute 'mini-game.' After the two teams battled through a scoreless ten minutes, they would saddle up for another ten minutes, this time being sudden death. The end would come at 7:55, when Rick Loveless scored in tight to win the game 1-0 for the Whalers. Hampton Roads outshot Tampa Bay 35-33 in the regular game, and 16-8 in the 'mini-game.' Evan Weiss stopped a total of 37 shots on the night for the Juniors, while the Whalers' Dylan Snyder and Justin Lindgren combined for 31 saves. Both teams were 1-for-3 on the power play.

The Tampa Bay Juniors, including playoffs, finish the season with a record of 18-20-0-2.

Director M. Night Shymalan's The Last Airbender won a Razzie over the weekend for the year's worst movie. It also won for worst screenplay, and Shmayalan picked up the nod for worst director. (It's amazing how far his fortune has dropped since his stunning debut with The Sixth Sense. The only thing dead he sees these days is his career.)
