Forty Players Set to Attend 2010 USA Hockey Women's Winter Training Camp

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Forty of the nation's top female hockey players will take part in the 2010 USA Hockey Women's Winter Training Camp, set for Dec. 26-31 in Blaine, Minn. The six-day camp, which will take place at the National Sports Center's Schwan Super Rink, will serve as a tryout and training session for the U.S. Women's National Team.

Included on the camp roster are 20 of the 22 players who recently competed at the 2010 Women's Four Nations Cup in St. John's, N.L. The remaining two are part of the U.S. Women's National Under-18 Team that is traveling to Stockholm, Sweden, for the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Women's U18 Championship during the camp.

A total of 17 Olympians will be on hand in Blaine, led by Jenny Potter (Edina, Minn.) and Angela Ruggiero (Simi Valley, Calif.), who have each competed in four Olympic Winter Games.

The coaching staff for the camp includes Katey Stone, head women's ice hockey coach at Harvard University, Mark Hudak, head women's ice hockey coach at Dartmouth College, and Hilary Witt, assistant women's ice hockey coach at Northeastern University.

NOTES: The full camp roster can be found here ... The 20-member U.S. Women's National Under-18 Team will be in Blaine, Minn., on Dec. 26 prior to departing for the 2011 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship on Dec. 27 ... A newly constructed USA Hockey locker room at the Schwan Super Rink will be utilized during the camp ... The White and Blue Teams listed in the below schedule will be interchanged throughout the camp. The teams will scrimmage boys' teams to be announced, as well as each other.

2010-11 U.S. National Junior Sled Hockey Team to Compete in First International Exhibition Series of Season
Team USA to Face Canada in Three Game Set in Buffalo, N.Y.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 2010-11 U.S. National Junior Sled Hockey Team will play its first international exhibition series of the 2010-11 season this weekend in Buffalo, N.Y.

Team USA will take on Canada's national junior sled hockey team tonight (Dec. 2) at 7:30 p.m. EST, Friday (Dec. 3) at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday (Dec. 4) at 4 p.m. at the Bud Bakewell Rink in Riverside Park.

The exhibition series against Canada marks the fourth gathering of the season for the U.S. National Junior Sled Hockey Team, which has held three previous training camps in Buffalo, N.Y., this fall. While Team USA has squared off against the Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey club team multiple times, it has yet to face international competition this season.

"After several productive camps and exhibition games against club teams, we're excited to see how we match up on the international stage," said Gregg Marinari, head coach of the U.S. National Junior Sled Hockey Team. "I'm already proud of how far we've come this year, and this weekend should give us a good look at where we stand."

NOTES: The 2010-11 U.S. National Junior Sled Hockey Team includes seven returning members from last year's squad, including goaltender Danny Hefley (Wexford, Pa.); defensemen Tyler Anderson (Jenison, Mich.), John Mollica (The Plains, Ohio) and Mason Newbold (Lockport, N.Y.); and forwards Raymond Beck (Sicklerville, N.J.), Connor Fee (Spotswood, N.J.) and Ryan Pelletier (Columbia, Conn.) ... Beck and Bryan Genovese (Oceanside, N.Y.) have each spent time with the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team this season as well ... Head Coach Gregg Marinari served as the assistant coach of the 2009-10 U.S. National Junior Sled Hockey Team ...
