Troy Glaus was the hero for the second straight night, breaking up a pitcher's duel with a sixth-inning, two-out, two-run double last night, pushing the Atlanta Braves to a 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays, in front of 30,427 at Atlanta's Turner Field.

Each team scored once in the 4th. The Rays got their run on a Carlos Pena two-out single that brought in Carl Crawford, Atlanta's run came on a one-out, solo homer by Jason Hayward. The Braves then broke the tie with Glaus's sixth-inning knock that brought home Tim Hudson and Martin Prado. Atlanta then held on for the 3-1 win.

James Shields started for Tampa Bay and fanned three, but allowed three earned runs in five innings for the loss, he's now 5-6. Hanson's fanned five and allowed one earned run on four hits over seven innings to get the win, he's now 7-2. Billy Wagner retired the Rays in order in the ninth on just six pitches for his 12th save of the season.

The Tampa Bay Rays, 41-25 and still tied for first with the Yankees in the A. L. East, are in Miami to play the Florida Marlins this evening, in the first of a three-game set. First pitch tonight is scheduled for 7:10pm EDT on 620AM WDAE, the Rays Radio Network and Sun Sports. The Rays play the Marlins again tomorrow at 7:10pm EDT and Sunday at 1:10pm EDT, then come home for six games, with three against San Diego and three against Arizona, starting next Tuesday.
